Effective January 1, 2023, there is a new CLE category of credit and this webinar will satisfy this credit obligation! Attorneys will be required to complete at least 1 CLE credit hour in Cybersecurity, Privacy and Data Protection as part of their biennial CLE requirement as of July 1, 2023.
The content is appropriate for both newly admitted and experienced attorneys, is open to all attorneys who practice in New York, and in particular, those who practice in the area of Education Law.
Tuition Assistance: Application for tuition assistance to attend this program may be made based on financial hardship. Under that policy, an applicant who has a genuine financial hardship may apply in writing not later than five working days prior to the program, explaining the basis of his/her hardship, and, if approved, may receive tuition assistance, depending upon the circumstances. The panel will discuss how cybersecurity intrusions and successful data breaches affect the practice of law and how lawyers can mitigate the impact. The panel will also review decisions and opinions on how ethical obligations have shifted to address these threats and prevent compromise to the integrity and confidentiality of client information.
